It is essential that the whole brain is integrated to make learning natural and easy. The Brain Gym movements have been found to integrate each area of the brain to allow information to flow easily from the senses into memory and then out again as new learning. One is able to perform with less stress and greater confidence. LATERALITY relates to the two hemispheres of the brain. These control communication essentail for reading, writing and whole body movement and being able to move and think at the same time. CENTERING relates to the higher and lower parts of the brain. This area manages feelings and expression of emotions, responding clearly with safety, relaxation, grounding and organisation. FOCUS relates to the coordination between the front and back lobes of the brain. It manages comprehension and keeping perspective. People without this skill are said to have attention disorders, behavioural problems, ADHD. They have an inability to comprehend. The Brain Gym movements combine the brain in each of these areas, allowing information to flow easily from the senses into memory and then out again as new learning. One is able to perform with less stress and to express creativity using more of one’s mental and physical potential.
